Why breast diagnostics? Breast cancer (mammary carcinoma) is the most common form of cancer in women. This type of cancer is responsible for about 30% of new cancer cases in women on average. The risk of breast cancer also increases with a genetic predisposition.

The mammary screening

Breast cancer screening is recommended starting at age 30. Once a year, the gynaecologist should carry out an appropriate screening. Between the ages of 50 and 70, women receive an invitation for an imaging mammogram every other year. If there are unclear findings or possible risks, further examinations can be arranged.

Mamma Sonography

Mamma sonography (ultrasound of the breast) is particularly useful for examining very dense mammary gland tissue. Especially for younger women, this offers a quick and easy diagnostic way to assess breast cancer risk.

Mamma-CT (2D mammography)

Computed tomography mammography (2D mammography) uses X-ray-based imaging. Images are created from different axes, which support the clarification of problematic palpation findings very well.

Mammography by MRI

Mammography can be performed with MRI for highly accurate imaging. If the findings are unclear, the radiation-free procedure provides very good images. This significantly improves the accuracy of the diagnosis.

3D mammography

In particularly complicated cases, 3D mammography, also called tomosynthesis, is used. This generates a complete three-dimensional image from different X-ray images and thus prevents possible fading through tissue areas that are not important.

Punch biopsy of the breast tissue

We use biopsies for direct diagnostics to definitively clarify suspected tumours. To ensure that the tissue removal works precisely, it is precisely balanced by means of CT during the treatment.
