A look at the vessels
Angiography describes the imaging of vessels using radiological imaging. For diagnostics, for example, computer tomography or magnetic resonance imaging are used. In order to visualize the corresponding areas as optimally as possible, contrast media must often be injected for this purpose.

Angiography by means of X-rays
CT angiography is a non-invasive vascular imaging procedure. By reconstructing the generated image data sets, a three-dimensional representation is possible. Here, too, vasoconstrictions or vasodilatations (e.g. an aneurysm) can be visualized. The examination, which takes only a few seconds, requires the administration of an iodine-containing contrast medium via a vein in the arm.
Angiography using magnetic resonance imaging
MR angiography is a gentle examination for imaging arterial and venous vessels without the use of X-rays. The insertion of catheters into the veins and arteries, which was necessary in the past, is no longer necessary.
